मुंबई में एक स्कूल टीचर को उसके कुक ने बिजली के झटके दिए क्योंकि उसने उसे डांटा था। पुलिस ने बताया कि 25 वर्षीय कुक राजकुमार सिंह के खिलाफ गैर इरादतन हत्या के प्रयास का मामला दर्ज किया गया है। रविवार को हुई घटना के बाद से वह फरार है। यह घटना अंधेरी इलाके में हुई। राजकुमार सिंह दो साल तक फ्लैट में कुक के रूप में काम कर रहा था और उस दिन एक अतिरिक्त चाबी का उपयोग करके दोपहर के वक़्त घर में घुस आया था।
महिला बेथशेबा मॉरिस सेठ ने बताया कि वो अपने बैडरूम में सो रही थी और उनका बेटा दूसरे कमरे में था जब राजू सिंह ने एक अतिरिक्त चाबी का उपयोग करके फ्लैट में प्रवेश किया। आम तौर पर राजू सिंह शाम 6.30 से 7.15 बजे के बीच खाना बनाने आता था। लेकिन रविवार को, वह दोपहर के आसपास बिना किसी सूचना के फ्लैट में घुस गया।
उन्होंने कहा, आवाज सुनकर जैसे ही मैं जागीं तो देखा कि राजू ने बिजली का तार पकड़ा था। उसने एक स्विच सॉकेट में प्लग किया और मुझे धक्का देकर बेड पर गिराया। उसके बाद राजू ने मुझे इलेक्ट्रिक शॉक देना शुरू कर दिया।
सेठ ने कहा, “उसने मेरे दाहिने हाथ में तार दे दिया और मुझे बिजली के झटके महसूस हुए। फिर उसने मुझसे पूछा, ‘अब कैसा लग रहा है?'”
महिला ने यह भी कहा कि सिंह ने उसका गला घोंटने की कोशिश की और हाथापाई के दौरान उसका सिर फर्श पर टकरा गया। उसका 11 वर्षीय बेटा, जो दूसरे कमरे में सो रहा था, उसकी चीखें सुनकर दौड़कर अंदर आया, लेकिन महिला ने उसे अपने कमरे में छिपने के लिए कहा, क्योंकि उसे डर था कि सिंह उस पर भी हमला कर देगा।
सेठ की शिकायत के अनुसार, सिंह ने अचानक अपना हमला रोक दिया और उनसे माफी मांगी और कहा, “मैंने ये क्या किया, मुझे ऐसा नहीं करना चाहिए था।” माफ़ी मांगने के बाद वह चला गया।
महिला बांद्रा-कुर्ला कॉम्प्लेक्स के एक अंतरराष्ट्रीय स्कूल में पढ़ाती हैं। उनकी शिकायत के बाद अंबोली पुलिस राजू सिंह की तलाश करने उसके जोगेश्वरी स्थित घर पर गई थी, वहां पता चला कि वह अपने भाई के साथ यहां रहता था लेकिन दो दिनों से घर नहीं आया है। पुलिस ने राजकुमार सिंह के खिलाफ भारतीय दंड संहिता की धारा 308 (गैर इरादतन हत्या का प्रयास) के तहत प्राथमिकी दर्ज करने के बाद उसकी तलाश शुरू की है।
