9-Year-Old Swaroop Santosh Raut Shines at National Taekwondo Championship

Swaroop Santosh Raut, a young Taekwondo player, achieved a special milestone with his impressive performance at the 4th Proton Cup Boys & Girls Kyorugi & Poomsae Open National Taekwondo Championship 2026.

Competing in the Under-12 years category, Swaroop won the first round and secured a silver medal in the second round. He is just 9 years old, and this championship marked his very first competitive match. Despite this, he displayed excellent skills, confidence, and strong fighting spirit, earning praise from officials and spectators.

The championship was successfully held at Vardhaman Lawns, Gangadham, Pune, Maharashtra, with participants from across the country.

Swaroop comes from a family with a strong record of achievements. His sister, Siddhi Santosh Raut, recently secured 3rd rank at the state level in the English Marathon Exam and also achieved a top position in the Spell Bee Exam, showcasing her academic excellence.
Their father, Dr. Santosh Suresh Raut, is a Court Appointed Commissioner and Forensic Crime Investigator. He is also a recipient of the National Icon Award for his professional contributions.

The achievements of both children reflect their dedication, talent, and hard work, bringing pride to their family and serving as an inspiration for other young students and athletes.
