On the vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Anaemia free India, The Ministry of Health & Family Welfare and UNICEF have launched the programme “Anaemia Mukt Bharat”, to reduce the prevalence of Anaemia in all over India.
“Anaemia is a very big problem. A lot of people in the country are victims of Anaemia. This disease is caused by a lack of elements like iodine and iron. Although the use of iodised salt has increased in the last few years, the cases of anaemia are decreasing by just 1 per cent every year.
Anaemia is a serious global public health problem that particularly affects young children and pregnant women. WHO estimates that 42% of children less than 5 years of age and 40% of pregnant women worldwide are anaemic.
On Prime Minister’s Vision, in constrain to national issue of health, “Anaemia”, Madhukar Rainbow Children’s Hospital New Delhi and NARCHICON 2022 Annual Conference Delhi Branch has organized Live Awareness programme on “Anaemia Mukt Bharat”, by Dr Anita Sabherwal, organising chairperson and Co convened by Dr Jayshree Sundar and Birth right Team at Madhukar Rainbow Children Hospital Malviya Nagar New Delhi. It was a very colourful and successful event attended by more than 200 nurses, college students, patients, attendants, support staff and doctors. Mr. Anuj Gupta Regional Head Delhi and his team at, Madhukar Rainbow Children’s Hospital New Delhi, truly supported this initiative whole heartedly.
All took a pledge to start the “Anaemia Mukt Bharat” processes from their own self and their extended families and spread the message to as many as possible”.
Dr Jayshree Sundar said, the dream is to create more awareness about Anaemia as people are not aware of this thing. Not Only poor but also the rich people are anemic, and this is an issue that needs to be taken seriously. Anaemia Mukt Bharat is a Campaign started by the Indian Govt to create more and more awareness through public forums and meetings like this.
