UNI Manangement locked gate this morning. So what? UNI activists from accross India continued Gandhian fast from sunrise to sunset and indefinite peacefull sit in ( Dharna).
Delhi police allowed it on Rafi Marg , New Delhi road pavement till 5pm.
Employees resolved to continue agitation till their demands, including payment of wages salary illegally not paid since last 56 months are met by the management.
Meanwhile , a writ petition is likely to be moved before Honourable Delhi High Court on Monday when it opens after 2-day Holiday
A writ petition has been drafted by Com. M J Pandey , president of the Brihanmumbai Union of Journalists ( BUJ) and CPJha , Working President of the UNI Employees Federation and a continuing member of the UNI Employees Union , Mumbai , in consultation with Mahesh Rajpoot , Chief Sub Editor ,UNI Varta , Chandigarh and General Secretary of the UNI Employees Union , Chandigarh , on behalf of the UNI Front ( joint committee of all the registered and elected unions of UNI employees.
Main Points of Writ Petition
1. UNI journalist and non journalists employees started prasefull fast and sit in at the UNI News Agency Company Head Office lawn on Gandhi Jayanti on 2 October 2021 to press the demand to clear their wages / salary for 56 months and also full implementation of Justice Majithia Wage Boars Awards , upheld by the Honourable Supreme Court of India.
2. The local management of the Company locked the gate of the Head Office and put up an illegal notice on the gate prohibiting entry of even the company staff in the premises claiming defiance of this will be trespassing.
3 Before this the UNI management closed the staff canteen in the Head Office premises , which had been open to all during since inception of the company.
4 UNI Front had duly submitted a letter to Delhi Police , Parliament Street police station and served it’s copy to the UNI Management declaring the peaceful agitation with complete observation of Corona Covid 19 Guidelines protocol , as issued by the Union Home Ministry of the Government of India in 2020 under Disaster Management Act of 2005.
5. Prayer : Quash illegal notice of the UNI management put up on the Head Office Gate on 3 October 2021 , allow all UNI Staff to enter the head office premise to continue their indefinite peaceful Gandhian fast from sunrise to Sunset , allow go to the office washrooms toilets and drink water from the office facility.
