एशिया की पहली महिला लोकोमोटिव पायलट सुरेखा यादव ने महाराष्ट्र में सोलापुर से छत्रपति शिवाजी महाराज टर्मिनल (CSMT) तक वंदे भारत एक्सप्रेस का संचालन किया। वह पहली महिला वंदे भारत एक्सप्रेस लोको पायलट भी बनीं और केंद्रीय रेल मंत्री अश्विनी वैष्णव से प्रशंसा अर्जित की।
छत्रपति शिवाजी महाराज टर्मिनल के प्लेटफॉर्म नंबर आठ पर सुरेखा यादव को सम्मानित किया गया। उन्होंने हाई-स्पीड वंदे भारत ट्रेन के संचालन का मौका दिए जाने के लिए आभार व्यक्त किया। ट्रेन तय समय पर सोलापुर से रवाना हुई और पांच मिनट पहले सीएसएमटी पहुंची।
मध्य रेलवे द्वारा एक प्रेस विज्ञप्ति में कहा गया है, “सुरेखा यादव ने कहा कि नए युग की अत्याधुनिक तकनीक से सुसज्जित वंदे भारत ट्रैन को चलाने का अवसर देने के लिए आभार वक्त करती हूं। ट्रैन सही समय पर सोलापुर से चली और समय से 5 मिनट पहले सीएसएमटी पहुंच गई। ट्रैन चलाने हेतु सीखने की प्रक्रिया में सिग्नल का पालन करना, नए उपकरणों पर हाथ आजमाना, अन्य चालक दल के सदस्यों के साथ समन्वय, ट्रैन चलाने के लिए सभी मापदंडों का पालन करना शामिल है”।
केंद्रीय रेल मंत्री अश्विनी वैष्णव ने ट्विटर पर सुश्री यादव का परिचय कराया। उन्होंने ट्वीट किया- “वंदे भारत – नारी शक्ति द्वारा संचालित। श्रीमती सुरेखा यादव, वंदे भारत एक्सप्रेस की पहली महिला लोको पायलट।”
महाराष्ट्र के सतारा की मूल निवासी सुश्री यादव 1988 में देश की पहली महिला ट्रेन ड्राइवर बनीं। उनकी उपलब्धियों के लिए, उन्हें राज्य और राष्ट्रीय दोनों स्तरों पर कई सम्मान मिले हैं।
बता दें कि सीएसएमटी-सोलापुर वंदे भारत एक्सप्रेस को फरवरी में प्रधान मंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी ने हरी झंडी दिखाई थी। इस ट्रेन ने दोनों शहरों के बीच कनेक्टिविटी में सुधार किया है और सोलापुर में सिद्धेश्वर, सोलापुर के पास अक्कलकोट, तुलजापुर, पंढरपुर और पुणे जिले के आलंदी जैसे महत्वपूर्ण तीर्थस्थलों की यात्रा की सुविधा भी प्रदान की है।
